When to tell usBy the day before your visit

Please write your requirements in the “Allergies and dietary requirements” field of the reservation form. We will discuss them with you when we contact you to confirm.

I don’t eat pork. Can you accommodate this?

Yes. We can prepare a meal without pork. Please note this in the “Allergies and dietary requirements” field of the reservation form, by the day before your visit.

Is your food halal?

We are not halal-certified. We can prepare a meal without pork, but our sauce (tare) is made with seasoning that contains alcohol, so we cannot serve food as halal. Please take this into account, and ask us when you make your reservation if you have any questions.

Do you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

We can prepare a vegetable-based meal without meat. Please let us know by the day before your visit. Please note that we are not vegan-certified, and we cannot guarantee strictly vegan preparation, including seasonings and cooking equipment.

Can I have beef only, or chicken only?

Yes. Please let us know by the day before your visit.

I have a food allergy.

We can prepare your meal without egg. For any other allergy, please tell us the details when you make your reservation, and we will let you know whether we can accommodate it. Our sauce (tare) contains wheat. Because we cannot completely rule out trace amounts during preparation, guests with severe allergies must consult us in advance.

What is in your sauce (tare)?

Our sauce is made with seasoning that contains alcohol, and with wheat. If you cannot eat these for religious reasons or because of an allergy, please let us know when you make your reservation.

How far in advance should I tell you?

Please tell us by the day before your visit. If you write your requirements in the “Allergies and dietary requirements” field of the reservation form, we will discuss them when we contact you to confirm.

Reservations

How do I make a reservation?

Choose your preferred date on the reservation page. The opening plan and reservation terms for that day will appear. Check them, then send us a reservation request. During the green season (May to November, excluding the Obon period), reservations are by telephone only.

I’d like to book during the green season

During the green season (May to November, excluding the Obon period) we accept reservations by telephone only; they cannot be made through the reservation form. During this period we accept course reservations only, and regardless of the number of guests, food for the table must total at least ¥60,000, with drinks billed separately. Our telephone number is +81 173-23-3735 (within Japan: 0173-23-3735). If calling in Japanese is difficult, the most reliable way is to ask the front desk of your accommodation to call us for you.

Can I come without a reservation?

Yes, walk-in guests are welcome. If we are full we may not be able to seat you, so we recommend booking if you want to be sure of a table. However, during the green season (May to November, excluding the Obon period) we cannot accept walk-in guests; during this period we accept course reservations by telephone only.

When is my reservation confirmed?

Your reservation is not confirmed when you send the request. We will check availability and contact you; your reservation is confirmed only when we do.

Can I choose where I sit?

Apart from the VIP Tatami Room, tables cannot be chosen; we allocate them according to the size of your party. If you would like a private room, please request the VIP Tatami Room (room fee ¥5,500 including tax, up to 9 guests) when you book.

Do you have a private room?

Yes. Our private VIP Tatami Room seats up to 9 guests, for a room fee of ¥5,500 (tax included). Please request it when you make your reservation.

Is there a cancellation fee?

For course reservations, cancellations made from 7 days (one week) before your reservation date are charged 100% of the course price. There is no cancellation fee for table-only reservations. If your plans change, please let us know as early as possible.

How many people can book?

We accept reservations from one person. The maximum party size we can seat is still being confirmed, so for large groups we will let you know about availability when we contact you.

Opening days and billing

When are you open?

December to March: regular opening, every day. April: Fridays and Saturdays only. 9–15 August: special opening for Obon (closed on 13 August). All other periods are the green season (closed on Sundays), when we accept course reservations only. We plan to close on 31 December and 1 January. All of this is our current plan. See Opening information for details. We are open 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm (last order 8:30 pm); the last booking is at 8:30 pm.

Is the ¥60,000 in the green season per person?

No. It is the total for food at the table, not an amount per person. It applies regardless of the number of guests, and drinks are billed separately. Whether it includes tax is still being confirmed.

How can I pay?

We accept cash, credit cards (including UnionPay), e-money and QR code payments.

Is there a minimum spend in winter?

From December to March there is no minimum-spend condition specific to that period. We accept both table and course reservations.

Getting here and parking

Can I get there by bus or on foot?

The recommended way is the APPI shuttle bus: our restaurant is a 3-minute walk from the “House APPI” (ハウスAPPI) stop. It is a 15-minute walk from the Appi Kōgen ski area and hotels.

Is there parking?

Yes, free parking is available.

For guests visiting from overseas

Can I book in English or Chinese?

Yes. The reservation page is available in English and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). We will confirm your reservation by email, written in Japanese.

I don’t speak Japanese.

The most reliable way is to ask the front desk of your accommodation to contact us for you. Showing them this page or the reservation page will help them make the arrangements.

Information about visiting with children is still being confirmed. We will add it to this page once decided.
